Don't Bring Me Your Heartaches (No.13 in UK charts November 1965 - Decca
F12260) and Have Pity On The Boy (No.18 in UK charts February 1966 - Decca
F12319). Both songs are written and arranged by British songwriter Les Reed
Roger Cook and Roger
Greenaway are called for by George Martin to provide backing vocals to Peter
Sellers version of the Lennon and McCartney's song A Hard Days Night (Parlophone
R4724). It climbs to No.14 in the UK charts on 23rd December 1965.
Lennon and
McCartney's Michelle
is recorded and released by David and Jonathan
(Columbia DB7800 ). It climbs to No.11 in the UK charts and No.18 in the USA
(Capitol 5563 ). The recording is directed by George
Martin
David and Jonathan make
their British TV debut on the Ready Steady Go show performing
Michelle.
David and Jonathan, along with George Martin, make a 2-week promotional visit to the States where they perform on countless radio shows. In addition, they appear on a show promotion film across 5 different TV
networks
The Fortunes release This
Golden Ring

(Decca F 12321 ). Penned by Cook and Greenaway, it climbs to
No.15 in the UK charts. The Fortunes follow up with Les Reed and Barry
Mason's song Here It Comes Again (Decca F 12243). This Golden Ring was sadly
one of the last recorded numbers by British Rock and Roll star Johnny Kidd,
the song being held back due to his death. Later the song emerged in 1983 on
the album rarities by Johnny Kidd and the Pirates (See For Miles CM 120 ).
