release What's Your Name What's Your Number (7" Buddah BDS 5467 & 12" Buddah DSC 122 ). Noted as the very first 12" single release penned by Roger Cook and Bobby Wood, it climbs to No.38 in the UK charts and becomes a dance hall classic. Produced under the direction of Michael Zager and Jerry Love, the original was released some 5 months earlier in France on a single (Capricorn Records 2089 056 ) by Roger Cook.

Under the direction of Roger Cook, The Chanter Sisters release a 10 track album Ready For Love (Safari LONG 3). The album contains the Roger Cook and Bobby Wood penned song, Never Thought Falling In Love (Could Be So Wild) .

After much persuasion from her manager, Crystal Gayle releases Talking In Your Sleep (USA United Artists 1214 ). Written by Roger Cook and Bobby Wood it climbs to the No.1 spot in the USA Country charts. It also crosses over to the mainstream UK and USA charts, climbing to No.11 and No.18, respectively. The number was produced by Allen Reynolds and arranged by Charles Cochran
